Membee Hosting Infrastructure Upgrade – Early morning maintenance windows scheduled for next two Sundays – January 24 and 31, 2010

We are going to be completing some important upgrades to Membee’s hosting environment from 1:00am Eastern Time to 3:00am Eastern Time on both Sunday, January 24, 2010 and Sunday January 31, 2010.   As a result of this upgrade, Membee’s administrative interface and Membee-hosted websites may be inaccessible for periods of time during these windows.    As always, we will work to minimize any disruption to users and website visitors.   We have chosen this time as it is the lowest traffic period on our servers by a significant margin, and thus will affect the lowest possible number of users.

Hardware upgrades and other extensions to Membee’s hosting infrastructure are necessary due to the somewhat higher level of growth that Membee has experienced over the past few months since we first launched our new web-based product.   We are working proactively to improve our scalability so that we can implement improvements before any performance issues surface in the future.

These upgrades are part of a series of on-going initiatives that we undertaking to improve the overall speed and performance of Membee.  We know that Membee plays an important role in your organization’s day-to-day operations and we are committed to ensuring that it is always accessible at a high level of performance.

Login Service Restored

Membee has returned to full operational status with the login service now rolled back to to its previous version. We will now investigate the exact cause for this temporary outage to insure that it does not occur again. We know that you count on Membee and reliability is our top priority. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

Update released – 13 New Features, Fixes and Enhancements Added

A new build of Membee has been tested and posted to the production servers. Highlights include:

  • Event deletion change to prevent accidental deletion of an active event
  • Primary Address added to Address Type filter in Organization Contact Detail Report
  • Financial reports get stronger “filter by Rep” capability

A Bee-utiful Holiday

To all of our customers and friends across North America and around the world…  Have a safe and happy Holiday Season!  We look forward to serving you in 2010.

Although Membee is always on duty – 24 X 7 X 365, Membee’s human caretakers take time off over the holiday season to spend time with family and friends.   We will continue to monitor all systems constantly, and Membee representatives will be available to assist with your questions during our special holiday business hours.

 

Internet Routing Issue Resolved – Full Access to Membee Restored

The issue originated with our Data Center provider and occurred upstream from Membee’s server infrastructure.   From the first moment that the issue was identified this morning, we were in contact with this provider, working towards resolution of the issue.   The cause of the interruption was difficult to identify, as its origin as it was caused by an obscure Internet routing issue that required assistance from various Internet backbone providers.  The issue has been fully resolved and our provider is working diligently to ensure that it does not occur again in the future.
We know that Membee is important to your organization’s overall operations and providing the highest possible level of system uptime is our absolute highest priority, at all times.   Our systems and servers are constantly monitored 24 X 7 X 365.  This issue was identified by this monitoring system today and we were working to resolve it within moments of initial notification.

Internet Routing Issue Update

We are in ongoing contact with our provider and they ascertained that the issue is upstream from them. This issue is their highest priority and their team is working with their 7 providers to find the point of failure which is preventing some traffic from getting to Membee’s servers. Once again, this is only affecting some geographic locations.
