Membee Support
Good Morning,
Some users who are accessing Membee using the old login method may encounter an error talking about a problem with the website’s security certificate. We’ve contacted our security certificate provider GEOTrust and a new certificate is being generated. We’ll install it as soon as we get it in the next few minutes.
Sorry for the inconvenience! We’ll update you as soon as there is tangible news.
Membee Support
The data center will be applying routine patches to Membee’s servers at some point between 2 AM and 8 AM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -5) on Sunday October 1, 2011. At some point during that maintenance window, Membee will be offline for about 5 minutes or so while the servers reboot after their patches have been applied. As usual, we’ll be on top of this to make sure that everything comes back to life properly.
Sleeping in on Sunday is so overrated. š
Good Morning All,
Just a quick heads up that a minor interuption to Membee is possible in the next few minutes as a required fix is applied. A user may get a message that Membee is being updated. A quick refresh of the browser and away you go! The chances of running into this is very, very slim but we just wanted you know just in case.
Hi All,
There are some “new and improved” versions to the underlying frameworks that Membee uses which we’ve been testing in Membee’s test environment and we’re anxious to roll them out on the production servers. These new versions will provide a few minor performance improvements in Membee right away but what really excites us are new capabilities they bring that we’re putting to work in new features which are currently under development.
The changes will happen transparently throughout the day on Friday June 24, 2011 between 8 AM and 4 PM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -4) and when they are in place, we need to change one setting in your organization’s settings which may have Membee’s outward facing features (events, directories, member profile, etc.) unavailable to a visitor to your site for 10-15 seconds. During that 10-15 seconds, your site visitor might get a “503 Service Unavailable” status message from their browser. The chances are really, really slim that they will encounter this message.
Both the technical support and customer service teams are working on this so let us know immediately if you encounter anything unusual.
Thanks for helping us to grow the hive!
Hi Everyone,
We’re doing some core library and driver updates to the servers. The updates are required for some new features that will be uinveiled in Membee over the next couple of months. These updates will require the servers to be restarted and as a result we are establishing a maintenance window on Sunday, June 19 from 7 – 8 AM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -4).
During this hour, access to Membee may be intermittent as the servers restart. As usual, we’ll do some testing to make sure Membee is happy when the restarts are completed.
Hi Everyone,
This morning’s server maintenance went off without a hitch and the server reboots were completed at 8:10 AM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -4).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Hi Everyone,
It’s Spring time and along with that, comes a little sprucing up and that goes for Membee’s data center as well. We’re doing some regular server maintenance by applying operating system and driver updates to the servers. These updates will require the servers to be restarted and as a result we are establishing a maintenance window on Sunday, May 1 from 7 – 8 AM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC -4).
During this hour, access to Membee may be intermittent as the servers restart. We’ll do some testing to make sure Membee is happy when the restarts are completed.
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick update to let you know that the power contingency tests in the Membee data center this past Saturday (April 9) were successful and the backup power systems kicked in as advertised when the external utility was disengaged. As anticipated, there was no interruption of service during the exercise. It’s good to know that this is working!
The whole exercise got us thinking so we all went home and pushed the “test” button on our smoke detectors. Have you checked yours lately?
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know that on Saturday, April 9 2011, Membee’s data center will be conducting its annual power contingency exercise. What that means in a language we all understand is that there will be a coordinated shutdown of the external power to the data center from the power utility to test the data center’s processes which automatically fire up its power generators.
Since the entire facility actually runs on batteries 24X7X365, the loss of external power will not affect any servers or data but will allow for the testing of the processes that start the generators.
The data center will be fully staffed during the test and we’ll be monitoring Membee just because we’re paranoid. š
